My heart is breaking...

for the Knight family as this morning they lost their 4 year old son Samuel to Mito.  I know that not everyone understands what Mito is all about but in honor of Samuel and all the others who have lost their battle to Mito please help us find a cure by donating and attending Mito events!  If there is nothing else I can do in this life I will keep my word to these kids and I will get the word out about Mito please join me in my fight against this terrible disease!

If you would like to read Samuel's story you can visit his blog at:

Mito Awareness Week!!!!!! DID YOU HEAR ME!!! MITO AWARENESS WEEK!!!

It's time for our kickoff for the Mito-What?5K!

We have decided the Mito Awareness Week is our kick off week, September 19th -25th!

What can you do to show your support?  Here are a few ideas:

Come out and join us at McAlister's Deli in Millington on Hwy 51 across from Wal-Mart, McAlister's in Germantown across from Methodist Germantown Hospital, and McAlister's in Bartlett at Kirby Whitten and Stage Road.  McAlister's has teamed up with us and will donate 10% of all the nights profits to the UMDF! This event raised around $250 last year at one location alone and I would love for each location to beat that number this year!!!  Come on out and show you support and enjoy a great dinner with friends and family! Don't forget to wear GREEN!

Mito Awareness Night
September 24th from 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Help us spread the word about the UMDF and Mitochondrial Disease by telling at least 5 people you know about the disease.

Get your children involved... print the following color pages and have them give them to friends to color and talk to their parents about!

Email the link to the UMDF website ( http://www.umdf.org/ ) or the Mito-What?5K ( http://www.mitowhat5k.blogspot.com/ )to at least 10 people that you know have never heard of the Foundation or our event!

Wear a green ribbon on your shirt and when people ask what it is for you can tell them all about the UMDF and the children and families effected by this disease!

Not enough ideas?  I have plenty more if you need them!  I will doing all of the above!

Why?  Because I love my sweet Mito kid friends and I love the UMDF!
